This year the Tater Twins are touring again, making this their third national tour! There is also a new addition to the Tater Team, we have a new driver named Nick, official known as “SpudNick! Nick has a background as a brand ambassador and is eager to drive around the world’s largest potato! Nick is a globe-trotter who loves to see new places! In addition, we have Ron, “The Tater Toter” joining us again for the first couple months during the transition! The Spud Squad is so happy to be on the road and can’t wait to meet all the Big Idaho Potato fans!!

The Big Idaho Potato Truck got a speedy start this year as it raced (within legal limits) across the country from Idaho to St. Petersburg, Florida for the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Pete! We were there to support Sting Ray Robb, aka “The Speedy Spud”! Sting Ray Robb is a 17-year-old, Indy Pro 2000 driver, from Payette, Idaho! Sting Ray is making a name for himself and the state of Idaho on the track! He has been doing very well and even placed third this past weekend! The Big Idaho Potato was on display by turn 5 in the fan zone of the St. Pete raceway! During the race weekend, fans came up to our spud to get photos, postcards and to see if our tater was actually “Real”! We also had an autograph session for Sting Ray Robb, where fans could meet the speedy spud and get his autograph and learn about his racing career! The Team had a frytastic time at the Firestone Grand Prix and the Tater Twins even had the chance to meet Indycar drivers Takuma Sato and Simon Pagenaud! Simon even told the Tater Twins that he remembered seeing our spud at the Indianapolis speedway!

After the races, the Tater Team head up to Sanford, Florida where they attended a “Math Moves” event at Goldsboro Elementary! There were multiple vehicles at the event that the students were able to measure. Some of the vehicles in attendance were the World’s Largest banana, a Lobster mobile, and a Bug Limo! The Tater Team answered students spud questions and helped them measure our truck!

We will also be in the World’s Shortest St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Hot Springs, Arkansas! The Tater Team is gearing up for the festivities and practicing their Irish jigs and accents! For all the Big Idaho Potato fans out there keep your eye’s peeled for our tremendous tater. You can also follow our schedule on our website at: https://bigidahopotato.com/tour-schedule/
