This week the Tater Team went Idahome for the reveal of the Big Idaho Potato Hotel and the official 2019 launch of the Big Idaho Potato 2.0! We recycled our 6-ton spud that once traveled across America and it has has been transformed into an Airbnb! Former Tater Team member, Kristie Wolfe, designed the inside of the potato to have a rustic chic feel and it is a very a-peeling place for couples and tourist to stay. Kristie and Frank Muir, the CEO of the Idaho Potato Commission, had a presentation in front of the potato hotel for the local press that came out for the BIG reveal! The Tater Twins also presented the Big Idaho Potato Hotel sign during the press conference! Channel 2 and 6 had reporters covering the potato hotel reveal and the Idaho Statesman came out to get a tour of the tuber hotel!
Along with reporters, Miss Idaho, Nina Forest, came for the reveal and Idaho influencers like “Totally Boise” and the Traveling Spud” came to get a behind the scenes tour! The Big Idaho Potato hotel is an Idaho bucket list destination and spots to stay are filling up soon! Our first change is we have a new tractor to pull our tremendous tater around the country! We are so thankful to Kenworth for setting the team up with an amazing tractor we can’t wait to show it off around America!
Our second change is we have a NEW driver named Melissa, “The Spud Racer”! Ron, The “Tater Toter”, is officially returning to retirement and will be spending his summer in Idaho with his family and grandchildren! We are so grateful for all the hard work and time he dedicated to the tour. He did such a great job and he made Idaho proud on the road! Although we are going to miss Ron, we can’t wait to make memories with Melissa!
Melissa is a native Idahoan, who grew up in McCall, Idaho, and has driven commericially for 10 years! She has also worked as a Duluth Trading Company model! Melissa is proud to represent her home state out on the road and is excited to meet new people across America! The Tater Twins can’t wait to welcome their “Tater Triplet” and show her how much fun we have on the road!
The Team hit the road this morning and were on our way to Louisville, KY for the Kentucky Derby Festival events! We will be attending the YMCA Kids Day, the Pegasus Parade Preview and we will be in the Pegasus Parade! The Tater Team had a great time attending the festival last year and they can’t wait for this year! Make sure to “Keep Up with The Tater Team” and follow our social media pages!
