What’s crackin’, Tater Nation?! This is #spudicus coming at you from the I-10 Just outside Tallahassee, FL! We’ve been on the road for a month now and I wanted to give you all the deets about all the places we got to go to this week! The Tater Team was up to a lot this week and I’m eager to share our time with you from our recent travels!

The Tater Team hanging out Outside with the Rig outside Mooyah Burger in Hoover, AL!

After leaving Baton Rouge, we headed to Mobile, Alabama, for an event with Greer’s Cashsaver grocery store! We had to leave Baton Rouge early to stay out of a big storm coming through, and #spudracer got us out in front of it in the nick of time! We met up with the store manager, Danny (a super funny guy), who had us set up inside since it was so windy outside!  While the Tater Team is accustomed to setting up our table and tent outside with the truck, we still had plenty of people coming up and asking us about the truck and buying some delicious Idaho Potatoes from Greers! We even got a special visit from Mark Daniels, the local Retail Promotional Director for the Idaho Potato Commission!

Hanging out with our friends at Greer Cash Saver!

From Mobile, we moved on to Hoover, AL just outside of Birmingham! We were impressed by Hoover’s rolling hills and being able to see the tops of all the trees from our event location! We had partnered with the Hoover Mooyah Burger who hooked us up with a free burger and fries! Mooyah was running a promotion where customers got a free side of fries with every purchase since we were in town! Customers were excited to get all the pictures they could and headed over to Mooyah to snag some free fries! Heather and Jonathan were our manager contacts for the event and made everything very smooth and helped us get a closer parking spot to the event than we had previously expected! Thanks, Guys!

The Great team that helped us out over at Mooyah in Hoover, AL

After our time in Alabama, we rolled east onto the Florida panhandle! We got to Sneads Fl for a retail event over at the Mcdaniel’s Piggly Wiggly grocery store. Sneads was the smallest town I spent more than 3 hours in but definitely did not disappoint! We showed up to the event a few hours early, and the store manager, Matthew, told us we could leave the truck out front while we went out for some quick lunch at Johnny Mac’s Woodfire Grill for some southern style all you can eat buffet! We were a little tired from eating so much, but the truck’s visitors’ energy fired us right up! Everyone was so excited to see us and had plenty of questions about the truck we brought to town! It was great to have a real small-town America feel and hospitality! Hope to have plenty more!

4 Pack of Idaho Potatoes for only $3.99 as part of our event at Piggly Wiggly in Sneads, FL!

Our last event of the week was in Tallahassee, FL, at a local Jason’s Deli. They exclusively sell big ole’ Idaho Potatoes, and I’ve heard many great things! We were able to set up in a parking lot near the store, and the store manager, Mia, was highly proactive in helping us out! This was also one of our signature board events as part of the Idaho Potato Commissions Big Helping Program! For every signature we collected, the Idaho Potato Commission donated $1 to the United Way of the Big Bend, which brings people all over the Big Bend area to work toward addressing challenges in the community. When the day was done, I finally got to have a “Texas Style Spud” with chopped pit-smoked beef brisket, cheddar, and BBQ sauce! Well done, Jason’s Deli!!

We had our busiest week of the tour for sure, but it was so great to see and meet with so many people from all over the country! Stop by next week to catch #tinytater’s take on the Clay County Fair and the Spring Time Parade back in Tallahassee!
