We celebrate Potatoes everyday on tour, but this weekend we went to a special Potato Festival in Elizabeth City, North Carolina! Elizabeth City is a quaint little town nestled by Pasquotank River. Every May they have an annual potato fest at the waterfront to bring their town together and celebrate the potatoes and sweet potatoes they grow!
At the Potato Festival they had fun attractions like live music, midway rides and potato games! On the main stage they had great performers playing during the entire festival! And throughout the festival they had unique vendors that sold merchandize and tasty food. There was so much to do at the festival and we were so happy to be a part of it!
We threw a potato party at our booth during the event and we gave fans free t-shirts for dancing and singing karaoke! We made so many great spud buds and enjoyed meeting the tater fans. The fans were so excited to meet the tater team and see our big spud! One teacher in town even gave their students extra credit if they took a photo with our potato!
We had a blast at the North Carolina Potato festival and we were especially excited when we got free French fries from the event committee! One of the committee members even let me drive and back up one of the farming tractors! You butter believe we had a blast at the potato themed event! All in all it was a successful event weekend! Next stop on tour will be at Dap’s Family dinner in Waynesboro, VA. Then we’ll be celebrating Memorial Day weekend in Washington D.C.!
